Joliet Dry Needling

The dry needling technique focuses on myofascial pain by directly targeting trigger points that hold knotted or hard muscle. These developed trigger points may restrict one’s range of motion, alter normal movement patterns, and cause referred pain.

It works to relieve pain and restore impairments of the body’s function by placing very fine filiform needles into the muscle for shorter or longer periods of time. In doing so, a healing response is stimulated to provide relief in muscle tension. These needles are incredibly fine as many may not feel the first insertion!

Joliet Cupping (Myofascial Decompression)

Myofascial decompression or cupping is a therapy that helps treat musculoskeletal disorders by using suction to create negative pressure underneath the cup. Originally fire was used to create the suction, but more recently a simple pump is used. The negative pressure helps to decompress the area by lifting the skin and the layer of tissue underneath the skin, the fascia, up into the cup. This creates space for the underlying tight muscle to lay down and relax. Cupping also helps bring blood flow to the area in need. Blood carries important nutrients which help with tissue healing. Dynamic cupping is the addition of movement to the therapy.  Movement can be in the form of sliding the cups over the necessary tissue or leaving the cups static while moving body parts.

FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW TO NARROW DOWN YOUR JOLIET CHIRO SEARCH

STEP 1: BEGIN A GOOGLE SEARCH

Search for one of these phrases:

  • Chiropractor Joliet
  • Chiropractor 60435
  • Joliet Physical Therapy and Chiropractic
  • Best chiropractor in Joliet
STEP 2: CHECK OVER THEIR WEBSITE

Great chiropractors in Joliet should care about how their website is presented.  If the website is dated, disorganized or neglected that is bad sign.   Also, take a look at what services they offer.  A Joliet chiropractic office that only offers one or two services may not have the tools to adequetly address more complicated injuries.

STEP 3: CHECK THEIR REVIEWS

Read the google reviews.  (Yelp is not a bad spot to check too!)  Look for patient reviews that describe injuries similiar to your own.   Look for comments that talk about the various techniques that were used to address the person’s injury.   Most importantly look at the bad reviews and see if you can find a pattern in what people are complaining about.   In our opinion, anything less than 4.9 stars should be approached with caution!

STEP 4: GIVE THE OFFICE A RING

Now that you have done your homework, call the one that stands out as the clear number one.  Do not hesitate to call the office and ask for an opportunity to talk to the doctor on the phone.  It is a really good sign if the physician is willing to take the time to talk or call you back to address you questions!
