Safe & Effective Treatment

Chiropractic is widely recognized as one of the safest drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of back pain, neck pain, joint pain of the arms or legs, headaches, and other neuromusculoskeletal complaints. Chiropractic has an excellent safety record. The risks associated with chiropractic manipulation are very small.

In addition to being a safe form of treatment, spinal manipulation is incredibly effective, getting patients back on their feet faster than traditional medical care. A March 2004 study in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics found that chiropractic care is more effective than medical care at treating chronic low-back pain in those patients who have been experiencing the symptoms for one year or less. In addition, a study published in the July 15, 2003, edition of the journal Spine found that manual manipulation provides better short-term relief of chronic spinal pain than a variety of medications.

Traditional Manual Adjusting

Many people have grown up receiving traditional manual adjustments from their chiropractor. Our physicians are highly skilled in manual chiropractic adjusting techniques. Our chiropractors are able to treat veteran patients as well as rookies due to the multiple techniques we incorporate into our services at IPM. Having used computerized and manual techniques, we have found them both to be highly effective at improving joint motion, reducing pain, and improving motion.

Computerized Adjusting

Some people are nervous receiving a manual adjustment from a chiropractor. Some may dislike the high-velocity thrusting and the “crunching” or “popping” sound associated with the manual adjustment administered by a chiropractor. For this reason specifically we integrated cutting edge computerized adjusting that is as effective as it is comfortable.

Imagine thirty to forty years ago, if we told you that dentistry would be painless, that doctors would use computers or robots to perform surgeries, that brain surgery for tumors could be done with a laser, that fetuses could be operated on within the uterus, that knife-less surgery could be performed, you would not have believed us.

By the same token, would you believe us if we told you that chiropractic treatments and mobilization of the spinal joints to heal ailments like neck pain and back pain could be done comfortably, while you were sitting in an upright position without any turning or sudden movements? Would you believe that newborns as well as the elderly with osteoporosis can be treated safely and gently?

Computerized Adjusting at IPM

Advances in computers and engineering technologies have been able to uniquely blend with chiropractic in order to both analyze and treat the human body in such a way that was never before realized. The potential for the human being to end pain and to achieve their peak spinal function has never been greater. Humans are consistently asking their bodies to perform at higher levels.

Now we have the techniques and the technology to match the demand placed on the spine and the nervous system. We now have the capability to fine tune our own energy and enhance every aspect of our lives.

What To Expect With Chiropractic Care

Laying the foundation for total health

In some ways, one could say that becoming physically well is a bit like building a house – certain things have to happen in a particular order in order for everything to stand strong and work together correctly.

Physical medicine (chiropractic, physical therapy and massage) addresses many common reasons why people experience pain and other health issues. If something is not right with your body’s foundation, then that needs to be addressed before true health can be achieved. With chiropractic care, your body has to go through a particular plan of care in order to repair itself correctly and fully.

    1. Relief Care
    2. Corrective/Restorative Care
    3. Wellness Care
